Double-click does nothing or opens the wrong app

Your system may not have a file association for .spd or for the registered MIME type application/vnd.sealedmedia.softseal.pdf.

  1. Use “Open with…” and select the IRM/Unsealer viewer, then set it as the default for .spd.
  2. On Linux desktops, ensure the MIME association is set up for application/vnd.sealedmedia.softseal.pdf via the system’s MIME database/handlers.

The file appears corrupted or incomplete

If transfer/download was interrupted, the sealed container may fail integrity checks and the Unsealer/IRM client may refuse to open it.

  1. Re-download the file from the original source or ask the sender to resend it.
  2. If possible, compare file size/checksums with the sender to confirm it transferred correctly.

Security note

.SPD (application/vnd.sealedmedia.softseal.pdf) is meant for a proprietary unsealer/IRM client; treat unknown .spd files cautiously because opening requires specialized parsing and decryption by that client.
