Many .OMG files are OpenMG-protected (DRM) ATRAC-based audio, which common media players may not support or may refuse to play due to DRM.
- Try opening/managing the file with Sony SonicStage on Windows (the most commonly referenced software for OMG/OpenMG).
- If possible, obtain or create a .OMA version through SonicStage workflows (newer files often used .oma instead of .omg).
I renamed .OMG to .MP3 (or .WAV) and it still doesn’t open
Changing the extension does not change the underlying OpenMG/ATRAC encoding or remove DRM; it can also confuse apps.
- Change the filename back to .omg.
- Open it with software intended for OpenMG/ATRAC workflows (commonly SonicStage).
